Are You Holding Yourself Hostage? Michael Beckwith Opens Our Mind

Everyday I work with my clients to deal with the false beliefs they have about themselves and their world in order to enable the creative power necessary to create something new in their life~the results they want. We feel out of sorts and in pain when we deny who we really are and live to make others happy from our survival instinct as a child.

I read this section in Michael Bernard Beckwith’s called “ Identity Theft Checklist” in his book, Spiritual Liberation and I feel it is important to share a part of it with you.

Countless times a day individuals hold themselves hostage to the false beliefs they have about themselves, all the wile demanding ransom from a world that is powerless to give what they are unwilling to give themselves: self-love, self-respect, and self-appreciation for their own spirit, beauty, wisdom, and creativity. When you surrender your identity to the outer world you become trapped in the dilemna of authentic self-expression versus superficial social expectation. Do this long enough and existential identity crisis occurs because you have stolen your identity and replaced it with a mask you wear to present yourself to the world. You may put a stop to this masquerade when you empower yourself to take self-responsibility for your life.

You are gracing the planet now. How do you want to live this precious human incarnation that has been given to you?  As you explore your responses to the following identity theft checklist, practice honest self-observation without judging your findings:

How often do you withhold your authentic feelings or opinions to keep the peace, to not rock the boat?

When you interact with others, do you play small so that others may feel better about themselves? Or do you exaggerate your virtues to appear superior to others?

Do you try on different personas to determine which woud be the most impressive and convicing under certain circumstances and in specific environments?

Do you continue to live under a belief system that no longer serve you so that other family members or friends won’t get upset?

Do you automatically accept others’ assessment of your identity without examining whether or not they vibe with your own inner sense of who you are?

Take some time with these questions and notice how your body reacts; what physical sensations occur when you are not in alignment with who you really are.
Notice the stories you make up about situations before anything is actually occurring, and what actions you take because of that story.
Notice how you feel energetically when you give your power away.
Understand that your reactions, interpretations, judgements, habits, actions are old conditioning and you need to take new actions to replace your old unconscious way of being in the world.

This is really scary for a lot of people because they think no one will accept them and they will be alone, abandoned and suffer.   Another story!

Tech Support: Yes, can I help you?

Customer: Well, after much consideration, I’ve decided to install Love. Can you guide me through the process?

Tech Support: Yes. I can help you. Are you ready to proceed?

Customer: Well, I’m not very technical, but I think I’m ready. What do I do first?

Tech Support: The first step is to open your Heart. Have you located your Heart?

Customer: Yes, but there are several other programs running now. Is it okay to install Love while they are running?

Tech Support:
What programs are running ?

Customer:
Let’s see, I have Past Hurt, Low Self-Esteem, Grudge and Resentment running right now.

Tech Support: No problem, Love will gradually erase Past Hurt from your current operating system.
It may remain in your permanent memory but it will no longer  disrupt other programs. Love will eventually
override Low Self-Esteem with a module of its own called High Self-Esteem. However,you have to completely turn
off Grudge and Resentment. Those programs prevent Love from being properly installed. Can you turn those off ?

Customer: I don’t know how to turn them off. Can you tell me how?

Tech Support: With pleasure. Go to your start menu and invoke Forgiveness.
Do this as many times as necessary until Grudge and Resentment have been
completely erased.

Customer: Okay, done! Love has started installing itself. Is that normal?

Tech Support: Yes, but remember that you have only the base program.
You need to begin connecting to other Hearts in order to get the upgrades.

Customer: Oops! I have an error message already. It says, “Error –
Program not run on external components.”  What should I do?

Tech Support:
Don’t worry. It means that the Love program is set up to run on Internal Hearts,
but has not yet been run on your Heart. In non-technical terms, it simply means you have to
Love yourself before you can Love others.

Customer: So, what should I do?

Tech Support: Pull down Self-Acceptance; then click on the following files: Forgive-Self;
Realize Your Worth; and Acknowledge your Limitations.

Customer: Okay, done.

Tech Support: Now, copy them to the “My Heart” directory. The system will overwrite any
conflicting files and begin patching faulty programming. Also, you need to delete Verbose Self-Criticism
from all directories and empty your Recycle Bin to make sure it is completely gone and never comes back.

Customer: Got it. Hey! My heart is filling up with new files.Smile is playing on my monitor and
Peace and Contentment are copying themselves all over My Heart. Is this normal?

Tech Support: Sometimes. For others it takes awhile, but eventually everything gets it at the proper time.
So Love is installed and running. One more thing before we hang up. Love is Freeware.
Be sure to give it and its various modules to everyone you meet.
They will in turn share it with others and return some cool  modules back to you.

I thought this was cleaver and represents the work of reprograming old perspectives that no
longer serve you.
You have to program “living a healthy life” over the current programing that is running you life
as someone living a life with an addiction. So how do you do that? That is what I teach you.

Finding a Treatment Center That Suits Your Needs

1. Does the organization hold any state licenses or some form of national accreditation?
If the organization is reviewed on a regular basis and is accredited, it shows that the organization is continually improving and maintaining the highest standards it possible can.

2. What type of education and credentials does the organization’s counselors hold?
A strong staff is crucial to any organization, as it is directly linked to the quality of the treatment. Knowing the staff’s training and experience will make the process more comfortable for you.

3. Has the organization had any clinical practice lawsuits filed against it within the last five years?
Lawsuits do not necessarily mean that the organization is guilty of negligence, but it is an indicator of how others have felt about the organization.

4. What are the dynamics of family sessions?

It is key for you and your family to understand how communication will be facilitated. Knowing this information before the treatment process begins will clear much of the anxiety for the patient and family members.

5. Do the organization accept insurance and will it process it for you?

Having the treatment center explain all costs to you upfront and reviewing the payment options with you is very important. Being able to recognize how much of the treatment is going to be covered by insurance will allow you to make plans financially.

6. What responsibilities will the treatment process require of me?
Organizations have different methods of ensuring treatment. There is the possibility that you may get limitations placed on your activities and those you can contact.

7. What type of results should I expect after treatment?
It is important to find what the organization will to do you in terms of the change of behavior after you finish their program. Addiction is a chronic disease, and needs to be managed for the rest of your life.

8. How can the organization help me manage my disease after I leave the program?

The treatment experience is the beginning of a journey that will last the rest of your life. You should inquire as to what services the organization has to offer you after you finish their program, and how much that will cost.

9. How will my medical record be affected?
Health care is becoming more integrated, and as a result communication between health care providers is becoming increasingly vital. Learning about how the organization will inform your health care providers is crucial.

10. How does the organization view medication in the assistance of abstinence?
Some organizations utilize medication as part of the recovery process, and some do not. It is important to get all information about their view on this issue and how it will affect your treatment process, so you can choose the one that matches most with your needs.

Start Making a Life, Stop the Struggle Part 1

Do you want to have a life you love, where life unfolds in front of you and you feel joy, abundance and gratitude?

You’re not struggling because you don’t know enough, aren’t worthy, or lazy; your struggle comes from being taught certain things about yourself and how the universe works that aren’t true.

Here is a metaphor that I like that illistrates this point. It goes something like this:

Imagine that you have grown up for 16 years knowing that you are going to drive one day and you are taught all those years that to move the car forward you are to put the gear shift in R (for reverse). You practice this in your mind pretending to drive yourself around. This belief is ingrained in you for 16 years and everyone of influence around you believes the same thing, they are passing on to you what they learned themselves.

The day comes to drive for the first time and you put the car in reverse gear to move forward, you put on the gas and the car will only move backwards, hitting things that you don’t see because you are believing you will move forward. You try everything you’ve been taught even willing the car to move forward  and every time the car keeps going backwards.  You’re doing everything everyone is telling you to do and still you get the same result of going backwards.

Your results eventually start you questioning yourself and negatively judging your abilities, forming new beliefs about your world and yourself that aren’t true because they are based on a premise that wasn’t true from the beginning. Fears of disaster rise every time you think about driving and you find yourself not wanting to drive anymore or trusting your potential as a driver.

The student driver wasn’t given the correct information from the beginning to learn the correct way to move the car forward. Just like the driver our whole perception (or paradigm) of ourself has grown out of misinformation from the start.

You have been programmed by your parents DNA and your environment (your family, the media, religion, culture, politics…) that you didn’t have any conscious choice about taking in and forming your subconscious minds beliefs and habits.  This part of your mind runs about 96% of your life whether you are conscious of it or not. Most people are not aware of the unconscious choices that their subconscious is making for them and why. Part 2 will deal with all of this is more depth.

Our parents only know what they have been taught and have experienced in their life. They absorbed as truth the beliefs and impressions from their parents and the environmental influences of that time without critical thinking, just as you have. As you can see that programing can be very outdated for our present life. And on and on it goes.

So, it isn’t anyone’s fault, it’s just what it is and it’s up to us to update our subconscious programing. Also notice that a lot of the programmed subconscious is that of a child’s perspective.  Now, think about who is influencing you and where have their programing come from. Did you know that most people choose their religion and political affiliate through default, not with awareness and critical thinking?

I want you to know the truth is you can make of your life anything you want, and you will have to take responsibility for changing your old limiting beliefs-no one else can do that for you. The truth is you are brilliant & abundant and and deep down you know this in your soul. The truth is you can change you mind to change your life living with joy, abundance, gratitude and love that you deserve and that are your birth right.

Let’s start here:

It’s important for you to understand Everything in the universe is energy,
including you, your thoughts & emotions!

As energy, our vibrations are created by the images and feelings (e-motion + energy in motion) that are in our subconscious mind and are transmitted into the universe like a radio wave.  Like vibration attracts like vibration.

To think is to form. Limitations and expansions are formed the same way, through thought. Limiting thoughts, such as fear, worry, and doubt constrict our potential and actions. Expansive thoughts of abundance, love, and gratitude  create opportunities beyond our imagination.  What you are thinking and believing the majority of time shows up as results in your life, limiting or expansive. Your life represents your thoughts, beliefs and subconscious habits. The good news for those with results that aren’t what they want them to be, is you can change and reprogram what isn’t working for you and change the results in your life.

1st lesson:  Wrap your mind around everything is energy. You take in energy and you put out energy. You are responsible for creating the results in your life! What do you want to attract? You affect the planet and others, so do unto others that you would have done to you?

2nd lesson:  Think about what you want instead of what you don’t want. This is very simple and yet, not easy because it requires you become very aware. The majority of time we are on auto pilot letting our subconscious mind run our life. You have to become more aware of your  thoughts, actions, feelings…and make conscious choices in favor of your desires.

Making a life is a practice! So, Practice…
